SFI organizes a solidarity stand to protect Palestinian heritage from theft and erasure

Bethlehem – As part of the event Palestine Unites Us: “Heritage and Identity”, organized by the College of Professions and Applied Sciences at Palestine Ahliya University, in partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Culture and SFI… SFI organized a solidarity stand aimed at protecting Palestinian heritage and preserving it from loss and from the ongoing attempts of theft and erasure by the occupation, affirming that heritage represents the identity of the Palestinian people and their deep-rooted connection to the land.

The solidarity stand came as part of continuous efforts to raise students’ awareness of the importance of cultural heritage and to highlight its role in strengthening values of belonging and resilience, as an essential part of the Palestinian national fabric.

The event featured artistic performances and heritage exhibitions that reflected aspects of traditional Palestinian life, along with folkloric and musical segments that embodied the spirit of authenticity and diversity within Palestinian popular heritage. Participants also took part in planting an olive sapling inside a map of Palestine, as a symbolic gesture expressing steadfastness and deep attachment to the land and national identity.

The event concluded with an interactive tour of the heritage exhibitions, with wide participation from students and attendees who emphasized the importance of passing down Palestinian heritage to future generations.

It is worth mentioning that this solidarity stand was organized by SFI in partnership with Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA).
