The Youth Pioneers Group in As-Samu’, in cooperation with the SFI and in partnership with the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), implemented a humanitarian initiative titled “A Step of Hope” at the Autism Children’s Center in Yatta. The initiative celebrated the progress and development of 20 children with autism and developmental delays, who are now preparing to transition into mainstream schools after a long journey of educational and behavioral rehabilitation.
The initiative aims to highlight inspiring success stories achieved through the joint efforts of families and the center, and to emphasize the importance of community inclusion for children with disabilities. This was done through producing a reportage featuring interviews with parents, children, and specialists discussing their development journey, challenges, and achievements.
The initiative also included organizing a recognition ceremony for the children and distributing school bags and stationery to support them in their new academic stage, in addition to presenting gifts to the specialists in appreciation of their continuous efforts in caring for the children, as well as educational gifts for the children to enhance their skills in the next phase.
