The Tuqu’ Youth Initiative Group implemented the "Safe Space” initiative at Al-Jarmaq Girls’ School, in partnership with the Youth Partnership Forum and SFI, aiming to improve the school environment and promote students’ mental well-being.
The initiative seeks to create a safe and green space within the school to help reduce the psychological pressure faced by students due to the school’s proximity to a dangerous settler road. The project included establishing an educational and recreational garden featuring tree and flower planting, installing playground equipment, and painting interactive murals that bring hope and positive energy to the space.
The "Safe Space" initiative came in response to the school’s need for a friendly and motivating learning environment, helping strengthen students’ sense of belonging while encouraging community participation in improving the school. At the same time, it reflects values of solidarity, social justice, and equality through youth-led voluntary action that aims to create safe and supportive spaces within educational institutions, thereby enhancing the resilience of the local community and its ability to adapt to daily challenges.
